Today I miss bread

Sourdough bread from a San Francisco bakery….

Slathered with butter, lightly toasted….

Scrambled eggs (for breakfast) just aren’t the same without a couple of slices of really good bread to lie on

  1. Mmmm, I do know what you mean.

    For me, a trip to the local Turkish shop means I now have to avert my eyes from the beautiful sesame seed-covered simit. I used to dip it in honey... also a low-carb no-no these days.

    Oh bottoms! Now I'll have to go and nibble some olives to shut up the 'hungries'.

    BTW, scrambled eggs on smoked salmon (or a goodly slice of decent ham) makes a reasonable substitute :-)
