Hello all…

Doesn’t time fly when you’re not blogging? I can’t believe how long its been since I stopped by (I’ve been reading blogs as much as ever, just uninspired to actually write anything).  You may gather from the number of photos in this post that I’m still a little lacking in the inspiration line…

Not much happened while I was gone. I lost a little weight, improved my ratio of good days to bad days (not quite the 80-20 rule, but no longer the 20-80 rule anyway!) did a lot of walking and not much other exercise, hurt my back and took an enforced rest period, nearly went nuts because of the enforced rest period….

Still don’t have a job.

It looks now like the apartment purchase may not go ahead. Turns out there’s a clause in the lease we aren’t willing to accept and no-one seems willing to sort it out, so we may be sticking with renting for a while. I’m OK with that as we’re now thinking of renting an apartment to try out the lifestyle before committing to it.

Last week my brother visited and we did a lot of walking and talking. Day 1 we visited a local nature reserve…

Day 2 we went to London and spent the morning in Camden – Camden Lock Market, Horse Tunnel Row and Stables market – love!!!

Day 3 we went to Henley and walked for a few miles along the Thames Path to Hambledon Lock

The weather was mostly awesome and we had a great few days, but I think over-doing all this may have been what hurt my back even though it was fine at the time, which is why I felt obliged to cut back. Yesterday I only did 2 and a half miles and felt sort of deprived…

My Mum & her OH are visiting tomorrow so I’m thinking of taking them to Maidenhead, as a few apartments for rent are available there. I don’t like Maidenhead as much as Reading on the basis of my one visit there so far, so if anyone has any suggestions for things to see / do there I’d appreciate the chance to improve my Maidenhead experience…
